Project Description
The Rotary Club of Narayani Mid Town completed the construction of a dedicated Girls’ Toilet Facility at Saraswoti Sanskrit Tatha Sadharan Secondary School, Hupsekot - 3, Girubari, Nawalparasi (East to Susta).
Adequate sanitation facilities are an essential component of a healthy and child-friendly learning environment. Lack of proper toilet facilities can particularly affect school-going girls, especially during menstruation, and may result in discomfort, embarrassment, absenteeism and reduced participation in classroom activities.
Recognizing this need, the Rotary Club of Narayani Mid Town identified the school as a suitable beneficiary for a sanitation infrastructure project. The construction of a separate girls' toilet was envisioned as a practical and sustainable intervention to improve school sanitation, personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene management, privacy, dignity and regular school attendance among female students.
The project was initiated in 2023 with the objective of addressing the sanitation and hygiene needs of female students and creating a safe, clean, private and dignified school environment for girls. After a period of construction and necessary completion work, the facility was formally handed over to the School Management Committee of Saraswoti Sanskrit Tatha Sadharan Secondary School on 31 August 2026.
