About Rotary Club of Thamel-Kathmandu
The Rotary Club of Thamel-Kathmandu was chartered on March 06 15, 2002, under the leadership of Charter President Rtn. Rajendra Man Sherchan. The club's inception began with an informal meeting on May 29, 2001, at Hotel Mandap, where five individuals—Rtn. Gopal Kakchapati, Dr. Keshav Adhikari, Mahesh Pradhan, Ganesh Pandey, and Rajendra Man Sherchan—discussed forming a Rotary club in Thamel.
Over subsequent meetings, the group expanded, and by November 6, 2001, an ad hoc committee was established. The club officially received its charter in March 06 2002 and has since been dedicated to serving the community, focusing on areas such as literacy, disaster preparedness, and heritage preservation.
